Privacy Policy

Cumulus ("we", "us") is a browser extension that saves files to your own Google Drive. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never touch. Plain language, no surprises.

The short version

• Your files go from the web straight into your Google Drive. We don't store them.
• We use Google's drive.file scope, so Cumulus can only see files it created — never the rest of your Drive.
• We keep a minimal account record (so Pro works) and a daily save counter (so free limits work).
• Payments are handled entirely by Dodo Payments. We never see your card.
• Saved content: files, page snapshots, and screenshots you choose to save are uploaded directly to your Google Drive. They pass through your browser to Google only — we never store, copy, or see their contents on our servers.
• Auto-clean (optional, Pro): if you enable it, Cumulus moves Cumulus-created files older than your chosen age to your Drive trash. It only ever touches files Cumulus created, never anything else.

What we collect

• Account basics: your Google account's unique ID, email, display name, and profile photo URL, obtained when you sign in. Used to identify your account and show it in the popup.
• Usage counts: a per-day number of how many files you've saved, to enforce the free-tier daily limit. We do not store file names, contents, or the sites you saved from on our servers.
• Subscription state: if you upgrade, we store your plan status and the customer/subscription identifiers returned by Dodo Payments, so we know whether you have Pro.

What stays on your device

Your recent-activity list (the last few files you saved, with their Drive links), your folder name, and your toggle preferences are stored locally in your browser via the extension's storage. They are not uploaded to us.

Google user data

Cumulus's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The OAuth token Cumulus receives is used solely to create folders and upload the files you choose into your Drive. We request the narrowest scope that makes the product work (drive.file) and additional basic profile scopes for sign-in.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as the merchant of record. Card details are entered on Dodo's secure checkout and are never transmitted to or stored by Cumulus. We receive only the resulting subscription status via signed webhooks.

What we never do

• We don't sell or rent your data.
• We don't read, scan, or index files already in your Drive.
• We don't run ads or share your information with advertisers.

Data retention & deletion

You can sign out at any time, which removes the local session. To delete your account record and usage data from our database, or to revoke Cumulus's access to your Google account (via your Google account permissions), contact us at the address below and we'll erase your server-side record.
